1980 Mk2 Ford Escort Ghia
Collection Day
Collection will be carried out in two phases. First phase is to collect the car from the owner and drive it back to Stourport from Redditch. Second phase is to hire a trailer and take it home, only 174 miles! each way.
November 2008: First phase complete. The car has been driven back to Stourport where my son and I had big grins all the way. Here is my son standing proud by his new car. He is looking forward to his 17th birthday now more than ever.
November 2008: The day started when we left home at 6:45am on Saturday with hired trailer hooked up ready to collect the Escort. 20 minutes in we pulled into the Fuel Station to fill up with diesel. Just before 8am we stopped in McDonalds to get breakfast. Car and ocupants fueled!! it was time to make head way. Arrived in Stourport ready to load up about 11:15am.
November 2008: Loaded the car on to the trailer and strapped it down before having a coffee and heading back home. Stopped once on the way home to get some chips about 1pm. Belly full and the last bit of the journey to do. Arrived home about 2:30pm. All that had to be done was off load the car and take the trailer back to CLH Trailers. Second and last phase of the collection complete.
November 2008: Picture of the engine bay with its 1700 crossflow. In view to the rear right hand side is the 2 litre Oil Catch tank.
November 2008: Picture of inside the boot area, just needs a bit of a clean. The chrome strip in the boot is off the offside wing and will get re-installed when the new wings get fitted.
November 2008: Side view of Escort now waiting for work to begin to get it through its MOT.
