Nearside wing and front panel repairs
The nearside wing requires a wing mirror hole to be filled in and a badly repaired section to be re-done. It will then require rubbing down, primed and painted with the front of the car.
June 2009: The picture shows the front of the wing rubbed down ready for a coat of primer. On top of the wing has had a small piece of metal welded in to fill in the hole left by removing the wing mirror.
June 2009: Previous repair not looking its best. This was sanded right back and re-done.
June 2009: The back end of the wing ready for some primer. The wing had a badly filled repair which has been re-done to a better standard. You can see this on top of the wing.
July 2009: The front slam panel has had a coat of POR-15 and the headlight surrounds have had their second coat. This is also in preparation for making fiberglass moulds for my V8 Cortina.
March 2011: A spot gun was used to take most of the crease out which the car trailer jockey wheel damaged on the collection trip. Due to the position I had to make a narrow cut to knock out the rest before welding back up.
July 2011: Front panel repaired with a fine skim of filler. The front of the car and engine bay has now received a few coats of Epoxy Sealer. Next is a couple of coats of primer/filler before sanding to a smooth finish.
